Mission of the Social Empowerment and Welfare Association (SEWA)

The mission of the Social Empowerment and Welfare Association (SEWA) is to empower marginalized, vulnerable, and underserved communities through participatory, inclusive, and sustainable development approaches rooted at the grassroots level. SEWA believes that genuine development occurs when communities themselves become active agents of change. Therefore, the organization works closely with individuals, families, and community institutions to identify their needs, strengthen their capacities, and enable them to claim their rights with dignity and confidence.

The mission of the Social Empowerment and Welfare Association (SEWA) is to empower marginalized, vulnerable, and underserved communities through participatory, inclusive, and sustainable development approaches rooted at the grassroots level. SEWA believes that genuine development occurs when communities themselves become active agents of change. Vision of the Social Empowerment and Welfare Association (SEWA)

The Social Empowerment and Welfare Association (SEWA) envisions a society where all individuals and communities, especially the marginalized and vulnerable, live with dignity, equality, and opportunity. SEWA aspires to build empowered, self-reliant, and resilient communities where women, children, youth, and disadvantaged populations have equitable access to health, education, livelihoods, and social protection systems.

What we do

What we do to protect environment

Formation, strengthening, and empowerment of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to promote collective action and grassroots leadership.

Promotion of education, skills, leadership, and social participation to enhance self-reliance and informed decision-making.

Prevention of gender discrimination and facilitation of access to legal rights, social entitlements, and justice mechanisms.

Promotion of health awareness and linkages with healthcare services, with special focus on reproductive and child health, nutrition, hygiene, drug de-addiction awareness and prevention, mental well-being, and prevention of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections.

Drug De-addiction and Substance Abuse Prevention

Community-based awareness, preventive education, counseling support, family engagement, and referral services to address substance abuse and support recovery and reintegration.

Child Protection and Child Rights

Prevention of child marriage, child labor, abuse, exploitation, and trafficking, and promotion of safe and supportive environments for children.

Education and Literacy

Promotion of inclusive education for children, especially school dropouts, tribal adolescents, girls, persons with disabilities, and adult literacy.
